Lethal Gourmandism

The large eyes of Pufferfish make us perceive it as cute. These fishes are very shy animals and avoid all the bigger animals, including humans even if they have enough tetrodotoxin to kill one. The fact that Pufferfish have a neurotoxin doesn’t stop humans from eating them, in fact they’re consider a delicacy, a very hazardous one. A recent study found that over 100 000 people die each year, while eating Pufferfish.
