Gliding

Grey Reef Sharks (Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos) must be in motion permanently, in order to capture the oxygen from the water and breathe. Rasdhoo Island is known for it's strong currents and abundant shark population. The strong currents enable this species to move through the water using the minimal muscle power to swim in order to breathe, making it a very efficient species. This female was the first to glide, almost effortlessly, close to me.
